October 26th: Mike Schaefer (247 Sports/Huskers Illustrated): Part 3

-What is the status of the Calibraska movement going forward? How is Nebraska doing with other targets for the 2018 class and beyond right now?

-Thoughts on how Nebraska will finish this season…and what needs to happen to save Riley’s job?

October 26th: Mike Schaefer (247 Sports/Huskers Illustrated): Part 2 / Shut Up Sipple

-Jake can finally ask about Bookie Radley-Hiles without Schaefer yelling at him, since Schaefer’s publication now has BRH’s Crystal Ball in favor of Clemson…will Mike rip Jake’s head off this time when asked about him?

-If Radley-Hiles indeed goes elsewhere, is the class salvageable and what others might also leave if he doesn’t come?

October 26th: Mike Schaefer (247 Sports/Huskers Illustrated): Part 1

-Is the media to blame for a perceived lack of patience within the Husker fanbase to wait for results, or is it reasonable to expect Nebraska to be in a much better spot than they are through 2.5 years of Mike Riley?

-Mike Riley didn’t sell this as a rebuild when he came in, but it has felt like that…did Nebraska really need to be rebuilt? Was it at the ceiling of what it could be with the previous regime that it had to totally change identity?

October 19th: Mike Schaefer (247 Sports/Huskers Illustrated): Part 3

-Why has Jeff Brohm been able to accomplish so much in his first year at Purdue—with less talent than Nebraska and a new system—but they Huskers continue to flounder?

-Also, Yankees take 3-2 ALCS lead, and Dodgers/Cubs Game 4:

October 19th: Mike Schaefer (247 Sports/Huskers Illustrated): Part 2 / Shut Up Sipple

-Would a school dare hang on to a coach until the early signing period in mid-December, and then fire them before the actual National Signing Day in early February? Seems crazy, but if it helps you get the big names in your class..

-On the other side, if you were to fire Riley and bring in a new coach, how many players would you see leave the current class, and how many would you possibly gain that might follow the new coach from his previous school?

October 19th: Mike Schaefer (247 Sports/Huskers Illustrated): Part 1

-What is the tone of recruits right now with Nebraska with such uncertainty going forward?

-Anything to read into Joshua Moore’s visit to Alabama this weekend?

-How can a staff effectively recruit right now under these circumstances?

October 12th: Schaefer in studio-A one-time Husker target thinks he might be able to convince Joshua Moore to flip to his school…

-Houston Griffith, the 4-star DB Florida State commit, tweeted out last night that there is a ‘flip alert’ out there for Joshua Moore to commit to the Seminoles. Moore has been a pretty dang solid commit to Nebraska, and has even talked about running track here…worried about that or not?

October 12th: Schaefer in studio-Midseason review…how does Nebraska grade out for the first half of season? / Shut Up Sipple

-Huskers sit at 3-3 overall and 2-1 in B1G play….are they excelling at any areas? Failing miserably at any areas? Or just all-around average? Sip and Jake go through the different areas and see how Nebraska is faring

October 12th: Schaefer in studio- Ohio State/Nebraska tickets are selling some places $100 BELOW face value….is that a sign of apathy, fear of embarrassment, or something else?

-To be fair, the weather is projected to be crappy for the game on Saturday…and that certainly might be a factor for why ticket prices are lower. But likely more than that…

-Check this out: Ohio State was favored by 20.5 points @ Indiana in Week 1….favored by 28.5 points @ Rutgers 2 weeks ago…and favored by 24 points @ Nebraska this week. By comparison, is Vegas predicting that Indiana is a better team than Huskers? Is it fair to say that with this or not?

-For those selling tickets, is it because of apathy or just not wanting to see a (potential) embarrassement vs. Ohio State again?

October 12th: The Nationals force a Game 5 in NLDS, and the Tribe goes down to the Yanks in 5 games. Playoff baseball, baby!

-Wednesday was a good day of baseball—a fantastic outing by Stephen Strasburg and a grand slam leads Nats to a 5-0 over Cubs….and the World Series favorite goes down to the Wild Card team!

-Also, SONG OF THE DAY:

October 12th: Dave Rimington doesn’t understand why walk-ons are so frowned upon with fans

-We know how important and popular that recruiting is, but the old walk-on program that was widely considered one of the things that put Nebraska above other schools, is now viewed as a sign of weakness for fans when assessing players on the field

-Why is it this way? In fairness, a lot of players who walked on in the past are now going to smaller schools to get playing time and a scholarship. Hard to blame them…going to be hard to convince a kid to go pay for school at Nebraska when he gets scholarship at smaller schools. That’s why you’ve seen extreme parity over the past 10+ years in college football
