Happer and Stephens (Sipple in for Tom) 7/20 – 11am

  • Jordy Tshimanga is leaving Nebrasketball and it’s kind of a mixed bag of reaction.
    • Does Jordy’s departure signal something positive for Nebraska?
    • Does Nebrasketball need to go get a big man now?
  • Husker Football adds Tony Fair, a JUCO nose tackle to the 2019 class
    • Fair is another in the line of junior college players Frost has brought in since his arrival

Is it possible for Sip to have any fun in Chicago next week for B1G Media Days or is it all business?

  • LIVE A LITTLE BIT, DAMMIT! (That’s Sorensen talking…..sorry)
  • We need a report on Wednesday that Sip actually had some fun and didn’t work the whole time in Chicago…
  • Also, BRITISH OPEN UPDATE

Parker Gabriel (Lincoln Journal Star) / Shut Up Sipple

  • What is Nebraska getting out of Tony Fair and his commitment? Any concerns at all?
  • Biggest storylines to look for from next week’s B1G Media Days

A Wisconsin senator is using the Green Bay Packers in her platform for re-election

  • Wisconsin senator Tammy Baldwin is up for re-election in November, and put out a video this week saying that all cable providers should carry Packer games—not show rival Vikings games instead. This may be seen as a lighthearted part of her campaign, but it likely could sway some voters her way since she is aiding to THE team of the state
  • Would this help or hurt a candidate in Nebraska? It always reminds Sorensen of what he views as the biggest upset in state history when Dave Heineman beat out Tom Osborne for governor when they were going head-to-head for the nomination. How did that happen?

Cornhusker State Games, International Boxing Federation, Haymarket Park Brewfest…and a giveaway!

More on Tshimanga’s departure, and Nebraska football gets BIG commitment from Tony Fair

  • Listener reaction to Tshimanga’s departure—most feel it isn’t a huge loss, as he might be affecting chemistry….
  • The 6’3”, 330 lb JUCO DT Fair chose Nebraska over offers from Indiana and UAB, but had interest from other schools…why so little interest for a guy with those kind of measures? Is he a steal or someone to be concerned about?

Jordy Tshimanga announces he will transfer from Nebrasketball—is it a big loss for the program, though?

  • The 6’11” junior center left the team for a week last January during the season, and lost his starting spot going forward-and Nebraska ended up playing well the rest of the year. The ‘Death Squad’ doesn’t feature him as a starter….is this a big loss at all?
  • There’s no doubt it will hurt to lose someone with his size, but even with him on the squad, Nebraska had the worst rebounding difference in the B1G last year. Is Nebraska’s depth a major issue now, though?
