Happer & Stephens: July 11th, 1pm

  • Do you remember Jaevon McQuitty? People forget about Jaevon McQuitty.
  • What you want
  • How do you hold your hamburger?
  • Is there any chance Nebraska uses some form of a “two-QB system?”
  • Oakland A’s lose in the worst possible way to Houston

Happer & Stephens: July 11th, 12pm

  • Is this the most difficult season of Husker football to predict that you can remember?
  • Chris Basnett, Lincoln Journal Star
  • Bull or No Bull, brought to you by Buffalo Wings and Rings

Happer & Stephens: July 11th, 11am

  • Willie Canty will not be with Husker Football for at least two years.

The Carolina Panthers have become the latest team/franchise to show us that maybe statues shouldn’t be a thing anymore / Shut Up Sipple

  • New Panthers owner Dave Tepper told reporters that the statue of Jerry Richardson, the previous Panthers owner, cannot be taken down because it is in the contract of the sale to remain standing.
  • Why is that a big deal, you ask? Richardson had reached settlements with former employees on sexual and racial components that were allegations. Joe Paterno had a statue, and Jerry Richardson, too. Both were disgraced by the end. Should we do away with statues going forward?

Jay Foreman (Former Husker and NFL LB)

  • Can Nebraska ever have depth again like you guys did in the 90s where you feared losing your job every practice?
  • How long do you think it will take Frost to turn things around here? How long does it take to build a culture?
  • Do you believe in Erik Chinander and his defensive philosophy?

Does Nebrasketball receive more pressure to win when Nebraska football is good or when it’s bad?

  • In a 4-8 football season last year, people clung to Nebrasketball for something of positivity, and they delivered for the most part. But, if football starts to get going again in an upper-echelon form of the B1G, will Nebrasketball’s pressure to perform rise with the success of the football team, or actually fall because as long as football is doing well, everything else is bonus for fans?
  • If the ladder is the feeling, that’s not great. Nebraska should expect all their sports to do well, and should not be football or bust. But it very well could be the feeling from the fans…

A Red Sox All-Star player thinks it’s time for the MLB to ditch the Home Run Derby…is he right?

  • Mookie Betts told reporters yesterday that the Derby has gone stale and is losing interest yearly…and he might not be wrong. He suggests a skills contest with fielding and other things like that…is it time for MLB to change things up? It feels like the NBA Dunk Contest is fading out, too….

Athlon Sports picks Nebraska to make the Pinstripe Bowl in NYC….would you make the trip out there for the game?

  • We’ve had this conversation before, as they made the same projection last year for Nebraska…but that was year 3 of Mike Riley, compared to Year 1 of Scott Frost
  • NYC is obviously an amazing city, but not a very desirable place to go in the winter time….would you make that trip, and if so, only because it’s Scott Frost’s first year?

CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd views Scott Frost as ‘untouchable’ in his 2018 Hot Seat rankings…what are Husker fans’ long-term view of what Frost can do here?

  • Frost was one of 11 coaches in the nation who are viewed as ‘untouchable’ this year by Dodd, and that makes lots of sense. But, let’s take a long-term view at this. Are fans believing that Scott Frost can or will deliver a National Championship in his tenure here?
  • Can you envision a time where Nebraska is winning the B1G consistently but not making the National Championship—it’s not totally impossible–would that be enough? Or would the belief be back enough again that there would be disappointment from not getting back to the pinnacle of success?
