Final news and nuggets from the Journal Star’s sit down with Scott Frost

Zack Darlington leaving program, and JoJo Domann had a set-back in his recovery…anything else to unearth?

  • Thoughts on the hard conditioning and what it tells you about how the program was left when Frost took over?
  • National Signing Day is officially one week away…what are we expecting with guys like Maurice Washington and Javontae Jean-Baptiste?

Scott Frost breaks down exactly what he’s looking for with QBs on his roster…is the picture clear of who the guy will be in 2018?

  • Sip wrote a long, detailed article on what Frost said with a bunch of things he looks for—high efficiency while playing fast; athletic ability; and more
  • Does Frost need one more QB in this class to make things better for him starting off? Not sure he knows if Gebbia/O’Brien will fit his system. Adrian Martinez is nice, but is coming off a missed year with torn labrum. We know he was after a couple of QBs beyond him, are they necessary going forward?

Is it really possible that Nebrasketball needs to win out in the regular season just to have a shot at making the NCAA Tourney?

A good source told Jake yesterday that for Nebraska to have a chance to get an at-large bid, they need to win out in the regular season AND possibly win a game in the B1G Tournament. If they did that and lost the next game, they’d end the year at 24-9. And that’s not good enough to make you in the Dance for sure, with a 14-4 record in league play?

A proposal is in place to allow players to transfer without sitting out a year if their coach leaves or is fired…good or bad for college sports?

This comes back to the old ‘do you commit to the coach or to the school’ conversation. What is right for the game? And if you’re going to allow it for this instance, there’s sure to be more reasons going forward to allow it…
