  • How attractive is Nebraska’s AD job?
    • Nebraska will not look to Trev Alberts to be their new AD, so now they can have a real national search. The guys think it’s pretty attractive. Why?

October 5th: Schaefer’s Indians play tonight in their first game in ALDS…will the Tribe take home the World Series title this year?

-Think about how cool of a trend it could be for the AL Central….4 straight years in the World Series….Royals lose in ’14; win in ’15….Indians lose in ’16; bound to win in ’17, right?

-Also, which of the Wild Card teams that advanced has the best chance of getting to the World Series, or at least the furthest in playoffs?

October 5th: Memorial Stadium will be showcased in primetime in 2 straight games vs. top-tier teams…will it prove to be a daunting place to play, still? / Shut Up Sipple

-Wisconsin comes in for a 7pm kick this weekend (BTN), and Ohio State for a 6:30pm kick next week (FS1)….obviously 2 big weeks for recruiting, but also a chance for fans around the nation to see if Nebraska can, even with an impressive sellout streak, still prove to be a tough place for top teams to play. Will they do so?

-Also, recruiting update…..and Mike Leach on stadiums

October 5th: Can you sell progress to the fanbase and administration if Nebraska loses their big 3 games (Wisconsin, Ohio State, Penn State) in close fashion?

-Most everyone is saying that for Mike Riley and his staff to keep their jobs for next year under a new A.D., it’s going to take a 7-5 record or better, which means that Nebraska would go at least 6-3 in B1G play….

-Let’s say they go 6-6 or 5-7, though, but play all 3 of the top teams down to the wire and you see signs of a team that can compete at a high level…would that be enough for fans/administration to give the staff another year or not? The first step is this weekend. Nebraska has lost 2 straight years in close fashion to Wisconsin, so it might be hard to sell progress if they do it a 3rd straight time..

October 5th: Cam Newton doesn’t think women know anything about the intricacies of football, apparently

-Is there any part of this that Cam Newton can get a pass for? Doesn’t feel like it. Very bad look for Cam as he talks down to female reporter Jourdan Rodrigue….hard to give him any benefit of the doubt.

October 5th: Will the offensive line be able to give Tanner Lee enough opportunities to make plays on Saturday?

-The line has been decent in the past 2 games, against lesser competition. But we have seen Lee have bad footwork and form when he feels pressured, and that will most likely happen often against the Badgers, who sacked Clayton Thorson 8 times last week

-Mike Cavanaugh has mentioned that sometimes the line trusts their technique, and sometimes they don’t. If they struggle right away, do you trust their ability to not get rattled and battle back?
