August 17th: Open practice to the media for Husker Football today…expecting anything different from past viewings?

-Will we see a more dialed-in team or a less dialed-in team? Mike Riley mentioned to BTN that the energy seems high with the team because camp started earlier and there aren’t 2-a-days and that things are more spread out….will that continue?

-Big things to watch today are…?

August 17th: Sip has the reason for why Mike Riley gets so much slack, and why expectations are lowered and OK by fans / Shut Up Sipple

-This is Nebraska, how dare anyone ever lower their standards for the program? Sip has the answer! Why? Mr. Nice Guy is so hard to root against, that’s for sure

August 17th: How far is Nebraska away from where they need to be as a program?

-Stemming off of yesterday’s debate and Mike Riley’s comments to BTN, is Nebraska as far away as some people believe, or truly close? The great talent debate and also coaching debate, too

-They might have felt far off the past 2 years with the wrong QB in the system…but maybe that’s not the case anymore…the question yesterday stemmed off of Nebraska’s poor performance in big games. Maybe that can all change with the right QB in charge, and a better defensive scheme in place.

August 17th: Nebrasketball B1G schedule….tough start

-Nebraska opens B1G play with Michigan State and Minnesota on the road before facing Creighton and Kansas.

-Also, SONG OF THE DAY:

August 17: Are you counting on Chris Jones playing at some point this season for Nebraska?

-Donte Williams talked with media on Tuesday and mentioned Jones’ importance and that there might be a chance for him to play this year

-As Sip pointed out, he is moving around with what appears to be no limping or wincing, and no brace on his knee. Do you risk rushing him back, or let him heal at his own pace?

August 17th: Can Bob Diaco effectively coordinate his defense from the box in the first year of the 3-4 scheme?

-It’s a different animal going from install to the actual game—and it’s not just the players in the first year of the 3-4…it’s all the other defensive coaches, as well

-Sip talked to long-time DC and head coach Al Groh who discussed the adjustment to running a 3-4 scheme and how good it can be, but also how difficult it can be to adjust on the fly at times
